She's Alaska formed in Nashville, Tennessee, but Cooper Moss (guitar and vocals) and Eleanor Lieder (vocals) were raised across the country. Cooper grew up in Martin a small town in Tennessee. Eleanor hails from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Their different backgrounds allow them to bring different assets to the table. Eleanor loves literature. Cooper loves really cool guitar riffs. Eleanor loves singing along to the radio with the windows down. Cooper loves bands who take themselves too seriously. Eleanor is writing this, and Cooper 100% has not approved it. Yet, when they write together magic happens. It's easy, as if the words were waiting there just below the surface. Eleanor and Cooper meld pop melodies and country storytelling to bring an alternative pop sound that is fresh and yet, like a memory you can't quite grasp onto, familiar. Alright, Eleanor has put away her thesaurus.
